Elizabeth grew up riding horses and hiking in the mountains of east Tennessee. After graduating from the University of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine, she worked at a busy small animal practice outside Houston, Texas, before jumping back into the academic world and serving as the first Assistant Dean of Student Success at Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine. Elizabeth works to promote individual student success and holistic wellness initiatives for the college, as well as prepare students for the NAVLE. Her focus in this unique role centers on early academic intervention and support, and collaboration between academic counselors, mental health counselors, student tutors, faculty advisors and course directors. She also facilitates communication-focused small groups, professional skills workshops, and leadership development sessions.

Elizabeth is a podcast junkie and enjoys attending concerts and improv comedy shows. She is a grey muzzle lover, having adopted and rehabilitated two geriatric Labs – Gunner and Winston. She loves spending time with her big family and boyfriend, A.J.  Future goals include becoming a certified yoga instructor and puppy raiser for Smoky Mountain Service Dogs. Elizabeth is extremely passionate about the VLI mission and is so happy to be a part of developing healthy and resilient leaders who will make a positive difference for the profession!

Favorite item from Harriet’s kitchen: Enchilada casserole, hands down.

What you do to have fun and recharge: Yoga, meditation, pretending to love exercise, reading and listening to podcasts, hiking with my ‘young at heart’ Labradors, and chasing after 7 nieces and nephews.
