Jonathan Dear DVM, MAS, DACVIM (SAIM)
Jonathan Dear is a board-certified small animal internal medicine specialist and associate professor at the University of California, Davis. A graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, Jonathan completed his residency at UC Davis. He also completed a master’s degree in clinical research at the UC Davis School of Medicine. Jonathan’s clinical interests include urinary and
respiratory medicine, while his research interests also include small animal infectious diseases.
Jonathan is the current president of the International Society for Companion Animal Infectious Disease and the assistant director of the small animal teaching hospital at UC Davis.
Jonathan has been involved with VLI since 2015 when he attended VLE as a participant. Following this experience, he became an MBTI certified practitioner and returned three years later as a facilitator.
Jonathan is a triathlete and hobbyist beekeeper. He spends free time during the winter snowboarding and the summer paddle boarding and exploring the outdoors.
